Abstract

With the increased development of the Internet in recent years, smart devices have become popular. As a result, a rising number of travelers are now making hotel room reservations using smartphone apps. However, most hotel reservation apps only deliver simple information, and there have not been sufficient studies that have attempted an analysis of the environmental color scheme in the images of apps. Thus, this study aims to derive the colors and images of IRI color in hotel rooms seen by users visually through mobile apps during online hotel reservation, and analyze the hotel room images in apps in order to arrive at foundational data that can be used for hotel image proposal and management in the future. This study contributed to the development of foundational data for hotel reservation apps through a color analysis of hotel images in apps, the usage of which has increased in recent years. However, this study has a limitation in that it is focused on a specific target only. As such, future studies are needed to address this limitation.
